S-Tech Insurance Services Limited

Invoice Discounting

Through our numerous contacts we are able to provide factoring and invoice discounting facilities from a number of sources. In recent years some credit insurers have offered this service, which fits neatly with their policies particularly when additional finance is required over and above normal banking arrangements. We have also a number of good relationships with providers ranging from the High Street Banks through to a selection of alternative markets. We can arrange introductions to the provider that best fits your requirements.

There is a wide range of products available these days, all are designed to help companies grow their business. A factoring arrangement tends to be the entry level whereby the provider will release funds against unpaid invoices. Up to 90% of their value is released within 24 hours of the invoice being raised; the remaining balance is made available when your customers settle their outstanding invoices. Normally they would be asked to settle with the provider, so your arrangement is revealed to your customer. Should your customer default on payment then, in most cases, the provider will look to you for the return of their funds.

At the other end of the scale is Confidential Invoice Discounting, which works in a similar fashion to factoring but with the added advantage that the facility is not revealed to your customer. In the event of non-payment many providers will not look to you for the funds plus you keep control of your own sales ledger. To qualify for this the provider will want to see that good financial controls are in place and that you have a strong financial background in addition to having sales in excess of £250,000.
